Actors Touring Company Actors Touring Company

Making the global, local and the local, global

Actors Touring Company’s passion and enthusiasm for the wilder reaches of contemporary international theatre has always seemed exemplary to me. They have long been an outfit doggedly devoted to sharing gems from around the world with audiences. I urge you to support them in any way you can.

— Richard Wilson OBE, actor, broadcaster, director

Our Mission

Will you join our adventure?

• We create theatre with a global perspective

• We engage with the issues, the events and the changes that impact and affect all of us – across society - at this moment in history

• We are the only British theatre company dedicated to the production of international plays for UK audiences

• We give voice to ‘the other', exploring inter-culturalism and internationalism, how tribes and nations interact, exist with and effect one another in a hyperconnected world

• We place the actor at the heart of our ethos

• We employ a lean aesthetic which promotes environmental sustainability

Audiences far and wide – in 2017, our productions (including co-productions and licenced productions) were seen by 30,000 people, performing in 17 locations in 10 countries across 2 continents.

Venue partners with whom we co-produce; or whose venues we tour to. We had 13 venue partners in 2017-18, including 4 co-producing partners. ATC’s work presents a unique offer to venues and their audiences, by enabling access for regional audiences to new international plays.

Artists established and emerging in the UK – from actors to playwrights, designers to composers and choreographers. International artists - we empower international theatre-makers, especially playwrights, to share their work with English speaking audiences, often for the first time. We also work with emerging theatre-makers at the beginning of their careers, to support them in developing their craft and leadership skills, empowering them in the next stage of their journey.
