Then Mark will be touring his new show Keep on Walking Federico for the first time in the UK with dates in Oxford, Bristol, Bath and Edinburgh.
Mark Lockyer is an extraordinary writer/performer whose hit show Living with the Lights On has toured from Bristol to Barcelona, including two sell-out runs at the Young Vic.
Keep on Walking Federico is Mark’s new show, full of the same compelling mix of virtuosity, heart and humour. It premiered last October at Theatre Lliure, Barcelona.
NEW ARTISTIC DIRECTOR MATTHEW XIA DIRECTS FOR HAMPSTEAD & THE ORANGE TREE
Before our new Artistic Director, Matthew Xia takes up his post, he is directing two productions at Hampstead Theatre and at the Orange Tree Theatre.
Eden by Hannah Patterson previews at Hampstead Theatre Downstairs, from 7 February – tickets are selling out fast.
Blood Knot by Athol Fugard from 8 March - 20 April with ATC’s regular co-producing partners the Orange Tree in Richmond. You may recall that ATC produced Winter Solstice by Roland Schimmelpfennig with the OT in 2017 and 2018 (on tour).
In this major revival of Athol Fugard’s play Blood Knot, it’s been a year since Morrie returned to South Africa’s Port Elizabeth to live with his brother Zach. They share childhood memories of their mother, yet have wildly contrasting life experiences due to their different fathers. Can they free themselves from the enduring prejudices provoked by the different shades of their skin? Fugard was a vital part of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa and his prolific career spans seven decades.
