Berlin, Berlin

Directed by John Retallack

Risen from Robert Musil's novel "A Man Without Qualities", "Berlin, Berlin" is a contemporary musical. The music (by Paul Sand) is performed by all seven members of the cast on a variety of instruments.

An arresting treatment of a modern city with its own myth. The confrontation between four edgy citizens of West Berlin and three visitors to the city. The visitors are a married woman from East Berlin who has crossed over to attend her father's funeral; a Berlin-born representative of an American foundation, and a man just released from 16 years in jail.
